Anyone know anything about Dry Eye syndrome?
There is an autoimmune condition which causes it as all right as allergies. See below.
What is Sjogren's syndrome?
Sjogren's syndrome is an autoimmune disease. Autoimmune diseases are characterized by the abnormal production of extra antibodies contained by the blood that are directed against various tissues of the body. This extraordinary autoimmune illness features inflammation contained by certain glands of the body. Inflammation of the glands that produce tears (lacrimal glands) lead to decreased wet production for tears and eye dryness. Inflammation of the glands that produce the saliva in the mouth (salivary glands, including the parotid glands) lead to mouth dryness.
Sjogren's syndrome with gland inflammation (resulting dry eyes and mouth, etc.) explicitly not associated with another connective tissue disease is referred to as primary Sjogren's syndrome. Sjogren's syndrome to be exact also associated with a connective tissue disease, such as rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, or scleroderma, is referred to as minor Sjogren's syndrome.
Use Gel or Lacrilube instead of artificial tears. The gel stays in the eye for longer and the Lacrilube is appropriate for overnight use as it works all darkness.
It could be caused by a choice of things. Do some googling.
I use hypermellose eye drops from chemist inexpensive and they do the trick!!
its called sicca syndrome ,,simply u use isoptotears (artificial tears 3-5 times each day and chloramphenicol ointment at night)i own nothing to give ,the above 3 users answered greatly
Hi, there. One of the most adjectives forms of Dry Eye Syndrome is having to sit lower than fluorescent lights. Many office fixtures own fluorescent bulbs that are too high within wattage. This puts a strain on the eyes due to the brightness and the reflections that shine bad computer screens and other desktop equipment.
See an Opthalmologist to confirm the source of your problem. If your doc think lighting in your department or work environment is the cause, speak next to your manager around lowering the wattage of the bulbs in overhead fixtures. This will not just be better on everyone's eyes, but is also a fantastic way to put aside electricity and cut costs.
I've also seen individuals create an "awning" over their computer screen to stop the look angrily, or wear a visor or a hat while working on the computer (seriously).
Check beside your Opthalmologist to see what s/he recommends, afterwards try different things to lessen the severity of your problem. Good luck!
Commonest problem is dry eyes due to age, as we get elder all secretion diminish.
Dry eyes are also a symptom of systemic diseases such as lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, rosacea or Sjogren's syndrome (a triad of dry eyes, dry mouth, and rheumatoid arthritis or lupus).
There is no specific treatment and no medication that actually make the condition better. Only symptom treatments are available, these take the form of eye lubricants. they come as drops and gel.
