............Is this everyday...........?

At night when I stare blankly into space without blinking, the background slowly starts to turn pitch black, and when successful, the entire room is completely black until I blink, and everything is final to normal...
same thing happen to me, i never really thought it was something bad?
No... it's not normal at all!

Yes this is completely normal. Everybody should experience this. It is all to do beside the cells (rods) in the retina firing impulses - as you stare at one point in the dark, they get fatigued and so everything go darker and darker. When you blink, it gives the rods time to readjust and start firing as common again Source(s): Optician
