Astigmatism (answer)?

what is astigmatism and how do you know if you have astigmatism
And for the second part of your question, how do you know ?

You hold to have an eye exam. If you have astigmatism, the Dr. will tell you so. The focal point of a lens is dependent on the radius of curvature of the lens. If the radius of curvature is like for the whole lens there is one focal point. However, if there are two different radius of curvatures, consequently you will have two focal points instead of one and your vision can not be focused clearly. This basically is astigmatism and surrounded by the eye it commonly occurs in the first lens in the eye, the cornea.
an glib way of describing an astigmatism is that your eye is shaped more like a rugby ball instead of a football. if you own an astigmatism you will have a cyl and an axis along with the sphere on your eye sight prescription. it is thoroughly common and a lot of people own them. It is when your eye isn't perfectly round but slightly rugby ball shaped which means your eye have a problem but you may not need glasses because of it. Often astigmatisms go away close to mine has. I don't know how often that happens though.
