I feel asleep with my contacts and my eyes now feel sore... What can I do to recuperate my eyes after falling asleep with contacts ?

I feel asleep with my contacts and my eyes now feel sore , I know this is really bad as falling asleep with contacts deprives your eye of oxygen which is a gateway for many infections . How long will it take or what should I do to get my eye into a normal state again ?
Answers:   Don't wear contacts at all for a week - stick to glasses. Use eyedrops in morning, and evening. Use them more often if you want.

That's it! :)
If you feel like you have an infection, go to an ophthalmologist straight away! Just remember ALWAYS take them out! Don't even go for 10 min naps in them!
The first thing depends on what type and brand of contact lens you are wearing. There are many soft disposable contact lenses on the market now that are safe and approved to sleep in such as Acuvue Oasys, or Focus Night and Day, or Biofinity. However, everyone's eyes are different and while one person may be able to comfortably sleep in their lenses for the prescribed amount of time, the next person cannot. If you are interested in sleeping in your lenses, make sure you have that discussion with your eye doctor.

There are 3 rules for sleeping in your lenses, if your doctor says it is okay you do.
1) See good -- your vision cannot be blurry any time that day. If it is, take your lenses out that night and do not sleep in them.
2) Feel good -- if you lenses bother you at all during the day or if you are aware you are wearing them, take your lenses out that night and do not sleep in them.
3) Look good -- if your eyes look red or irritated, take your lenses out that night and do not sleep in them.

Now, the fact that your eyes feel sore either means the type of contact lens you have is not approved for overnight wear, or that your eyes just do not tolerate it well.

Take your contact lenses out immediately (if you have not already). Lubricate your eyes with artificial tears or non-preserved saline. And give your eyes the day off from your contact lenses (wear your glasses). Your eyes will be fine by tomorrow, if not feeling just fine later today.
