Answers:   Any lens that has a convex curvature on one side and a concave curvature on the other side is a meniscus lens.

It is more obvious in + power lenses used for farsightedness ( hyperopia ) and presbyopia, but is also in negative power lenses used for nearsightedness ( myopia ) and also for astigmatism corrections.

The front convex curvature of a negative power lens is more difficult to see, it looks flat , but it isn't.

Most regular optical lenses used in glasses are meniscus lenses.
