I been thinking about doing Lasik Eye Surgury so I no longer... Does Lasik Eye Surgury really work?

I been thinking about doing Lasik Eye Surgury so I no longer have to wear glasses. I am looking for some research or peoples experience with Eye Surgury. Does Lasik Eye Surgury really mean no more glasses have to be worn? How much does it cost? How long does the surgury take? What will I have go through after the surgury. Will I have to take sometime off from work to do this? Thank you ahead of time for your answers as they will be really helpful in making my decision to do this surgury.
Answers:   A friend of mine has had laser eye surgery. He told me about it..it worked. He doesn't wear glasses anymore.

He said for the first week or so after the surgery has been done you have to stay away from bright lights. So particularly staying in a dark room..He says even now its uncomfortable for him to be around lights that are too bright, such as the sun.

Yes, you'll have to take time off work to recover..It is very expensive. It is partly painful. I am unsure about how long the surgery will take.
Cost depends on the surgeon and where you live. Some people aren't good candidates because of their eye structure and lens thickness. Some people still need glasses and have side affects. You may not need to take time off , it's mostly non invasive.

I've heard of doctors giving free consolations exams so you might want to look into that if you are serious about it.
LASIK is great for correcting myopia and astigmatism. It can also correct a limited amount of hyperopia. It is not effective in treating presbyopia, the inability to focus up close one develops as he gets older. State of the art LASIK costs about $2000 per eye. The procedure only takes minutes. You will have to put 2 or 3 kinds of drops in your eyes four times a day for about a week. You may have to take a few days off work. I had mine done on a Friday and was back to work on Monday.
